The commonly used tool path for machining parts on CNC lathes:
(1) analysis of the car's arc path
When the actual car arc, it needs multi-knife processing, first remove most of the excess, and finally the car needs the arc. The following describes the processing route commonly used for car arcs.
Figure 1 shows the course of the arc of a car.

Figure 2 (a) is a concentric circular arc path for the car arc.

Figure 3 shows the car cone cutting course of the arc
That is, a car first cone, and then car arc.

(4) analysis of cutting path
In the case of a rectangular groove with low turning accuracy and narrow width, a slot cutter with a blade width equal to the slot width can be used to feed the car at a time using the straight-in method. Grooves with higher accuracy are generally used as secondary feeds, ie, when feeding the trough for the first time, the remaining amount of fine cars is left on both sides of the trough, and the second pass is trimmed with a constant width knife.
The wide groove of the car can be cut by multiple straight-through methods, leaving a fine machining allowance in the groove wall and the bottom surface, and the last knife to the size. As shown in Figure 6.
